An opportunist try from hooker Michael Bunn saw struggling Weybridge Vandals end a run of three straight defeats at London Division Two South West high-flyers London Cornish.
A ferocious tackle in midfield from Vandals winger Freddie Hedger saw Cornish - who had a three man overlap at the time - spill the ball allowing the visitors to hack through for Bunn to touch down.
It meant head coach Buster White’s men led 10-0 at half-time after full-back Dai Hammond’s boot had given them a 3-0 lead.
And although Cornish responded with three points of their own after the break Hammond added another penalty to preserve his side’s advantage in an error strewn game.
Vandals welcome league leaders Tottonians to Brownacres on Saturday.
