Richmond director of rugby Steve Hill says his men are beginning to gel after securing back-to-back National Division Two South wins for the first time this season.
The Athletic Ground outfit ran in five tries to earn a 27-10 bonus-point triumph over Clifton to turn the tables on a team that beat them twice last term.
Lock Chris Davies got the ball rolling on six minutes before flanker Guy Thompson, winger James Greenwood (2) and centre Nick Barrett completed the scoring.
It was the first time Hill had been able to name an unchanged side this season and the Richmond chief wasn’t complaining his side was unable to add to the winning margin in the closing stages.
“We are now beginning to play as a team,” he said after watching his men move tenth in the table.
“It’s very pleasing to win and score five try's against a side who beat Richmond both home and away last year.
“The half did peter out a bit but all credit to Clifton who didn't give up and scored a decent try at the end.”
Hill expects to receive a boost ahead of Saturday’s trip to Westcombe Park, with news seasoned centre James Brooks should be fit for a recall to the starting line-up.
Richmond’s next three fixtures: Oct 9 Westcombe Park (a), 16 Oct Jersey (h), Oct 23 Old Albanians (a)
