A positive spirit has begun to rise among the youth of Wandsworth borough. Could this be the effects of a new year and a fresh start? Or perhaps just a hidden sparkle never before acknowledged by the community? Either way, the numbers of youth getting involved in community activities is rising rapidly.

One of these activities is the Duke of Edinburgh’s (DofE) award, with 2,074 already enrolled in the program since the beginning of this year, this total is double the number of that of five years ago, and is higher than any other borough in London.

Other activities bringing the youth of Wandsworth closer together is uniform clubs such as Scouts, Air Cadets, Guides and Cubs. With around 35 Scout groups scattered across the borough, no one has an excuse not to join! Guides are even preparing for Climate Week, from the 4th to the 10th of March, so it’s the perfect time to join.

Wandsworth are also taking youth members in for their London Youth Games team, to compete later this year, creating not only a bond between teenagers in the borough, but links with others all around the city.

If interested in any of the above activities, take a look at the Wandsworth Council website, and enrol now, for an experience you definitely wont forget.
