The weeks leading up to Christmas can be hard for a plethora of reasons, stress-shopping, frantic decorating and family visits.

However, for one girl this run-up to Christmas was more than less than ideal! On December 18th, Old Palace of John Whitgift school student Stephanie Pegasiou (16) thought she’d lost her beloved family puppy, Bobby, forever.

A fox chased Bobby away from the house in the evening and after many hours of searching Stephanie and her family still could not locate Bobby. Over the course of the night more worry built and by the next day the family were knocking on all the neighbour’s doors to raise awareness of Bobby’s disappearance.

Hours later the Pegasiou family were still looking; the luck struck when one neighbour found Bobby hiding in his garden and was indeed safe and unharmed!

Pegasiou described the whole ordeal ‘frightening’ and ‘worrying’, although stated ‘I couldn’t have been happier to find Bobby; she got a lot of pampering after her return!’
Shabneez Rashid commented, ‘I couldn’t imagine losing my dog like that. My dog is like part of the family, Stephanie is super lucky that her neighbour was so helpful!’

Although Bobby was returned safe and sound, I think it’s important we all keep an eye out for lost pets, as so many are valued members of the family, so if you see an animal with a collar wandering alone, please report it as someone may be missing their pet very dearly!
