Football fans in Wimbledon on Friday 22nd February 2013 were lucky enough to have the chance to have their photo taken for free with the Premier League Cup thanks to the Wimbledon branch of Barclays Bank.  As the sponsor for the Premier League, Barclays have been touring the cup around many of their branches over the past few months.

The cup, which was placed just outside Morrisons in Wimbledon Town Centre, was accompanied by dozens of dancers and Barclay’s staff who handed out free bags of jelly beans, cookies and other goodies. With football fans old and young queuing up for a glimpse (and a photo) of the famous cup, the area was surrounded with people wanting a piece of the action.

The fun continued when you walked round to Barclays Bank where you could retrieve your photo of you and the cup. With a competitive game to win football tickets, a cake sale to raise money for Comic Relief and a visit from Pudsey the Bear there was something for everyone. ‘The game is so fun, but quite difficult really! My son had his photo taken with the cup as he is a huge football fan so he wanted to come along as soon as we heard about it!’ Said Rob Walford who attended the bank’s big day on Saturday.

Although the cup is no longer available to see, the competition to win football tickets is still up and running for the rest of the week (week beginning 24/02/13)- take part in The Centre Court shopping Centre in Wimbledon.
