I interviewed an Italian civilian about the situation in Italy for the elections. The problem is that there is a deadlock between two parties from opposite wings. ‘The Italian elections are completely useless and no one has won.’
‘The winner is ‘Movimento Cinque Stelle’ which is led by the comedian Beppe Grillo. This shows that the Italians are fed up of their government and the comedian doesn’t really know how to govern a country. The party’s idea is to overthrow all the politicians. This in a way is good because they have not done much for Italy but there is nothing that Beppe Grillo wants to give to Italy to construct it as they are just focusing on the negative sides of things.’
‘I think Monti should have been elected because he has governed well during these last 18 months and has done exactly what was needed to keep Italy in the Euro. Now the elections have been taken there will be a significant drop in the Euro.’
