This month London Citizens branch in Coulsdon College have been focusing on improvements that can be made regarding transport to college.
London Citizens is a charity with the largest alliance of community organisations in London. Their goal is to make social, economic and environmental improvements within its partner communities.
A common issue Coulsdon College students have been complaining about is the travel to and back from college. The 466 and 60 busses that stop outside the college do not come regularly, which significantly affects students’ journey.
In the theme of Valentine’s Day, London Citizens have attempted to take practical action in response to this issue by sending a card to TFL, thanking them for the service they provide as well as inviting them to meet and discuss further about the topic.
Successfully, Coulsdon received a response from TFL during the half term, accepting their invitation to meet and discuss improvements concerning bus service, as well as what the college can do to make their experience better.
The meeting will take place on Thursday 7th March. In the hope of this becoming a success, Coulsdon will receive a more frequent bus service resulting in happier faces within the community!
