On February the 28th on popes lane around 17:10 pm, south Ealing in west London next to the west 5 clubs; a black Volkswagen lupo crashed quite severely into a wall. The people driving the car had ran away from the scene before the fire brigade and police could arrive there but as far as the police know there were no casualties. The scene was covered in smoke and people crowed round to see what all the fuss was about, the car bordered of with tape as police tried to find any clues on who was the driver and what the cause of the crash might of been.
The provisional road toll for 2012 showed that sadly 370 people died on NSW roads, an increase of six from 2011 (or a 2 percent increase). This is the second lowest road toll since 1932, despite an increase on 2011 road toll of 364.
The main increases from the provisional road toll for 2012 were among motorcyclists, passengers and pedestrians.
Motorcycle user deaths were up by 18 per cent to 60, compared with 51 in 2011 (an increase of nine),
Passenger deaths were up by 11 percent to 81, compared with 73 in 2011 (an increase of seven), and
Pedestrian deaths were up by 10 percent to 54, compared with 49 in 2011 (an increase of five).
Nobody yet knows why the car crashed but its most likley that either the driver was drunk, on their mobile phone or just not concentrating so I think this should be a wake up call for all drivers and to pay extra attention whilst driving as not doing so you and others around you could end up injured or even worse.
