The Intouchables or Les Untouchables is a French comedy film produced in 2011. Although it being very popular and a huge hit in France, it hadn't quite grabbed Britains attention.
The film is set in Paris, where a very wealthy quadriplegic is looking for a new personal assistant. He finds a young man, who is poor and is having personal family problems. The film illustrates an amazing transformation of the lonely, disabled millionaire's life, showing how two different classes can create a comedy and lots of fun. Through the film the two create a great loving friendship and it really touches the audience, especially as it is a true story.
At the time it was released, the film had achieved a very impressive score on the film review website IMDB, achieving an average score of 8.5 (any score over 8 is exceptional). These reviews were mainly from French people but in late 2012 the film was re-released in English cinemas as demand increased. The film had proved to be very popular. A friend of mine Richard Hearne; one of the only people I know who have watched the film commented, "I love this film, its really touching and is one of my all time favourite films, I loved the commedy of it and the acting was superb." This was the main response for most viewers of the film. This a film that I strongly recommend any readers to watch, as it is truly inspirational and hilarious.
Now the film has many reviews on IMDB with even an improved score of 8.6 with over 156,000 reviews. It is rated 62nd best film ever on the site. It's clear that this film should be watched by many more people as it is very popular with it's viewers.
Pablo Hughes commented, "It's a film I'll never forget."
