The amount of younger students addressing elders as if they were equals is very embarrassing. Everywhere i turn the youths disrespect those older than themselves on the bus, purely for the cheap of their friends. However, the youth that you saw disrespect said older member of society becomes a different person on their own. Also, students are being given the chance to stop trying if they find something too hard as they can ‘resit’ or even just take part in a foundation course. Thus allowing them to waste valuable time on games, computers and social networking sites.

I believe the best way to combat this problem of disrespect of youths is to incorporate military views as adopted by many cadet squadrons such as the; air training corps (raf) , special constabulary cadet (police), army cadet force (army) and the sea cadet corps (navy). These military ideas give these youths the ability to be responsible for their actions and  to also give help to their peers.

Cadets are also taught  not to the give up at the first hurdle but rather to give it their best which unfortunately is not a trait readily found in many of the state schools in the UK.  No matter how the teacher tries there is only so much that can be done that can help a student get a grade also, the student has to remember that the there are 30 students in a classroom therefore the lessons are suited for all the class not just him/her self.

This is where the responsibility ideology of the military comes into play as if the students were taught how to be responsible, rather than relying so much on the teacher who find it very stressful to continuoslyhelp a struggling student. Respect is another idea in which if incorporated into the education system will help to stop our slowly degeneration of our society into immorality. With respect a lot more students will actually learn new subjects at school. 1 in 4 students though that a lot of lesson time was wasted because of an argument between a student and  a teacher or even with a fellow student.

Lastly and most important is the idea of determination and hard work. Many soldiers who apply and take part in the many test needed to become a soldier are told that they must do their best in order to ensure the best possible chance of joining the army. Even in the ATC when taking part in an obstacle course cadets are told if they work hard and fail it is better than working with no drive and determination as then you will never progress as your problems will never be apparent to you.
