Throughout the last couple of weeks many students have been experiencing the stressful life in sixth form, being in further education, doing their A- levels and getting that bit closer to university.

Having gone through the stress of GCSE and studying up to 11 subjects many tend to feel a load has been lifted off their shoulders not knowing that the hard work has only just begun.

So what is the big deal with sixth form or college? Well, I’m only just starting to find that out myself, but I guess it has to do with the fact that these couple of years are the years which ultimately determine how the rest of our lives will be, what jobs we will have and who our friends will be. Or is it the stress of building relationships with new teachers? Or perhaps the workload, which leaves certain students too tired to even complain? Or even the fact that we all just have to mature extremely quickly. I really don’t know but a good beginning always makes a good end.

So what do we students feel? Many students attending the sixth form at Gumley House Convent School are already tired. Not only are they tired, they are also already overwhelmed with the amount of work received in such a small time period. But the reality is that these years could make or break you and all you can do is more than your best, so good luck.
