During the evening of Sunday 12th September 2010, over sixty-thousand people turned out to raise money for wounded members of the armed forces at the Help for Heroes concert. The concert took place in Twickenham Stadium, and consisted of many headline acts including Robbie Williams, Tom Jones and The Saturdays. Many injured and ex-army men attended the concert, accompanied by Prince Harry, as a reward for their services; and with internet links to the soldiers in Afghanistan allowing them to watch the event, it was a day for many people to remember.

As someone who was able to attend this event, I was able to experience the amazing atmosphere that was present, and the tremendous amount of support the audience gave to the acts, and to our troops all over the world. There was no hesitation to the crowd in buying the many different items of merchandise on sale, for which all proceeds went to the charity. Also, many people leaped at the chance to record messages to the troops in Afghanistan, expressing their support and admiration.

In addition to this, there was an extraordinary amount of dedication from the artists. Many artists refused their pay check in order for the most money possible to go to support our wounded soldiers.

Overall it was a very successful and enjoyable day for everyone. The charity raised a considerable amount of money and has helped many wounded soldiers and their families due to the success of this event!
