The new school year usually brings with it a host of brand new extra curricular clubs and activities- and this year at Blenheim is no different.
This new academic year sees the return of the school’s most popular musical groups and ensembles, including their extremely talented soul band; the ever varied school orchestra; and, one of the school’s most loved groups, their very own ‘Glee’ club, consisting of both lower and upper school singers. This year also sees the introduction of the school’s very first African drumming group-a great achievement for this culturally diverse school- and a brand new woodwind orchestra, which will surely make a fantastic addition to the music department’s already brimming schedule.
Following the resounding success of Blenheim’s four show summer production of ‘Sweeney Todd’ at the Secombe Theatre in Sutton, this year’s Christmas concert will see many of these musical groups, and more, showing off their true talent (no doubt in front of a huge and adoring audience.) Such demand for these clubs demonstrates that music is a powerful tool for many.
But one thing’s for sure- if you visit Blenheim High School in the near future, it will definitely bring music to your ears!
