How often do we hear this word ‘stress’? To be precise I’ve heard about this monster about 12 times today...I heard about it on the way to school, on the way back from school, on the news. Everywhere!

Firstly, Hounslow is a very short distance away from Heathrow Airport which is one of the busiest airports around London. Noise pollution can be extremely stressful and distracting: lessons at local schools often have to be stopped as the planes roar overhead. Cranford residents that are even closer to the airport all receive special window fixing to block out noise to combat the stress attached to all the sound. That’s a pretty good way of coping with current circumstances.

Another stressful issue is traffic. More needs to be done to control traffic in Hounslow – a recent incident, involving tailbacks and accidents, occurred when the Great West Road traffic lights failed at a three-way interconnecting junction. Every little helps. If you usually take a car to where you need to...Make a difference. Walk or cycle for a change if possible?

Hounslow isn’t that safe, many parents stress that they don’t want their children out and about because they believe crime in Hounslow has increased, and gangs are making the streets less friendly than before. Robberies are especially on the high.

Hounslow isn’t the safest of areas either, many parents stress that they don’t want their children out and about because they believe crime in Hounslow has increased, and gangs are making the streets less friendly than before . According to the Met Police UK website, there were 96 more crimes this year than in August in 2009. It’s these small number increases that we as a community need to avoid.
