Brentford Football Club has recently been celebrating a momentous victory over Premiership team Everton. The giant killers delighted fans by pulling off a shock result.

Against all odds, on Tuesday the 21st of September, the League One side came out on top to reach the next stage of the Carling Cup. Showing true perseverance, despite Everton taking an early lead in the sixth minute, the Bees stung back five minutes before the break. The equalising goal scored by Gary Alexander gave all Brentford pubs and homes something to shout about.

After tough, spirited and determined defence from the home team as well as many competent saves from Richard Lee, star Brentford goalie, the match was taken to extra time. At the end of this period with nothing to separate the two teams it was down to penalties to decide their fates. After a tense shoot-out Brentford eventually triumphed 4-3, surprising both set of fans. Delighted Brentford supporters invaded the pitch, thrilled with the result.
