From Thursday 19th April until Saturday 12th May, keen theatre goers can watch an all-star cast perform ‘Here’ by Michael Frayn at the Rose Theatre, Kingston. It is a revival of the 1993 philosophical comedy which centres a couple sharing a studio flat as they start to build their lives together; famously it is all in the present tense with no reference to the past.

The leads Phil and Cath are to be played by Zawe Ashton and Alex Beckett respectively. Ashton starred in the popular comedy Fresh Meat and other theatre credits include Othello peformed at the Globe Theatre. Beckett is also no stranger to television and theatre, notably in BBC comedy Twenty Twelve and Married, Single, Other and on stage in Much Ado About Nothing.

Alison Steadman will perform the role of Pat. Her television credits range from her fantastic portrayal of Mrs Bennett in Pride and Prejudice to the comic delight of Pam in Gavin and Stacey. Having recently portrayed Madame Arcari in Blithe Spirit, her presence at the Rose is hotly anticipated.

The production is directed by Lisa Spirling. With over 25 performances over the span of around 4 weeks, it is a production not to be missed.
